Milestones
1971. SWM was established in Milan, Italy. In the 1970s and 1980s it swept across all of Europe and became an icon of Italy's manufacturing industry.
2014. SWM acquired the Milan factory of Husqvarna, a former top off-road motorcycle brand under BMW. The classic SWM brand, with its accumulated technology and the advanced design concept of Husqvarna and BMW, was ready for a brand-new journey. In February, the Italian design centre of SWM Motor was established.
2025. At EICMA 2025, SWM marked a new global strategic beginning – unveiling its brand renewal, advanced technology platforms and a full range of new products. With innovation as the driving force and a global vision as its compass, SWM is redefining the landscape of the motorcycle industry. This milestone signifies SWM's full stride towards the core of the international stage.
